Work will replace aging transmission poles and strengthen the grid
Snohomish County PUD will conduct a set of planned outages in Edmonds next week along 188th St. SW. and 88th Ave. W., as crews replace aging wood transmission poles with new steel poles. The work is designed to strengthen the transmission system, improve long-term reliability and reduce future maintenance needs.
PUD crews are completing as much work as possible in advance and coordinating activities to minimize impacts to customers. There will be six separate nights of work that will result in a small set of customers experiencing outages. The PUD will use signage, door tags, robocalls and emails to communicate directly with impacted customers and help them prepare.
The work will require intermittent road closures along both 188th St. and 88th Ave., each night depending on where the work will be conducted. Drivers should respect all road closures and detour signs.
