January Power Talks: Learn How Microgrids are Changing the Energy Future
On Thursday, Jan. 11, from noon to 1 p.m., the PUD will host a free Power Talks presentation to discuss how microgrids are changing our energy future. A microgrid is a collection of power resources that can feed the main grid or be disconnected to serve a specific location. In the case of an emergency, they can power hospitals, community centers or other critical facilities. The PUD built the Arlington Microgrid in 2021, and has learned a lot about what it takes to build and maintain a clean-energy microgrid. Find out how microgrids are improving grid resiliency, energy storage and more. Power Talks are free of charge and virtual only.
