Young naval officer holding certificate in front of official building

As a veteran in the U.S. Navy submarine community, I learned a lot of different things in a very fast amount of time and was able to accomplish something very few people have.

From casualty drills, scanning the ocean with sonar, and driving a boat, I created memories that will always make my time in this community worth the knowledge I gained.

With that knowledge I became educated on nuclear power and how exciting and incredibly powerful it is. It also humbled me being around our military assets, as it opened my eyes to just how intimidating our forces can be.

Overall, I am grateful for my time in the service and wish all my fellow veterans a Happy Veterans Day. – Kasey Westfall, Engineer III
