Frequently asked questions

What is the timeline for choosing and notifying applicants?

Registration will be available until May 15, 2026. If selected, you will be notified by June 15. This program ends Nov. 30, or when all spots have been filled.

How will the PUD select participants?

We will select participants who are PUD customers and fall within a household income threshold of 200% or less of the federal poverty level for residential customers. PUD staff will select homes and businesses with the highest energy burden throughout the county to make sure customers from each of our service areas have the opportunity to participate.

How will customers be notified?

A representative from the Opportunity Council will be reaching out to selected participants by phone.

How will this audit benefit participants?

The home energy audit will highlight areas for improvement in your home, making it easier to take advantage of rebate savings when they are available. You’ll receive professional guidance at no cost and learn about PUD programs available to you. PUD’s goal is to help customers reduce their energy consumption through home improvements and save money on utility bills.

PUD wants to ensure we are providing programs that will assist the most customers in making improvements to their homes. The results of these energy audits will help us better understand community needs and contribute significantly to how we develop programs in the future.

What if I am not chosen?

Qualified applicants will be put on a waiting list and notified if we expand the pilot program.
