Snohomish County PUD joined the City of Everett on April 15, 2026, to celebrate Arbor Day with a ceremony and tree plantings.
The event included comments from City of Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin, City of Everett Councilmember Erica Weir and PUD Board President Sid Logan. Speakers emphasized their organization’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the importance of planting trees for cleaner air, shade, and wildlife habitat.
“Arbor Day is truly about our legacy; the trees we plant today support our work to enhance tree canopy throughout the city, benefiting Everett residents today as well as for future generations to come,” said Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin. “I want to thank the Snohomish County PUD for being such a strong, dedicated partner in serving our growing community and supporting environmental sustainability.”
Attendees joined the PUD Vegetation Management department and City of Everett Parks Department to plant six Paperbark Maple trees and one Japanese Stewartia.
“For over twenty years the PUD has been recognized with the Tree Line Award from the Arbor Day Foundation,” said PUD Board President Sid Logan. “This recognition reflects our ongoing dedication to proper tree care and delivering safe, reliable electricity while maintaining healthy community forests.”
Community members are also invited to celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day at the Energy Block Party on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at PUD Headquarters on 2320 California Street in Everett. Attendees will have the opportunity to win a free tree to plant on their own property in Snohomish County or Camano Island.
