Social Media Site Use and Comment Policy

Snohomish County PUD’s social media sites provide an opportunity for sharing and discussing information about Snohomish County PUD programs and activities. The comments and opinions expressed by users on these sites are theirs alone and do not reflect the opinions of Snohomish County PUD or its employees. All comments will be reviewed upon posting. They are screened in accordance with this Social Media Site Use and Comment Policy.

Policy

Only comments that comply with this Social Media Site Use and Comment Policy will remain posted, all others will be removed.

Comments must relate to Snohomish County PUD programs and activities.

The following are prohibited on Snohomish County PUD social media sites:

  • Comments containing vulgar, obscene, abusive, profane, threatening or otherwise offensive language;
  • Malicious or hateful comments based on race, national origin, citizenship/immigration status, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran/military status, age, or disability;
  • Comments promoting or opposing any person campaigning for election to a political office or promoting or opposing any ballot proposition, initiative or referendum; or,
  • Comments promoting or advertising a business or commercial transaction or requesting donations.

Comments and posts containing links that are published to the PUD’s social media sites are automatically hidden using Meta Moderation Assistance tools. These tools are content-neutral and are used to protect against dangerous links, scams and other malicious uses.

Communications made through the PUD’s social media sites, wall posts, comment section and/or other messaging systems in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to Snohomish County PUD or any official or employee of Snohomish County PUD for any purpose.

This Social Media Site Use and Comment Policy is subject to amendment or modification at any time to ensure its continued use is consistent with its intended purpose as a limited public forum.
