The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is a big power player in the Northwest, providing about half of the energy used and operating more than three-quarters of the region’s high voltage transmission system. It has historically supplied some of the lowest cost energy in the entire country.
Why should you care?
About 80 percent of Snohomish County PUD’s wholesale energy supply comes from BPA. For that reason, the PUD has focused considerable attention on finding ways to help BPA cut its costs so that wholesale energy prices are held in check. The PUD is committed to working with other regional utilities and industry trade groups to preserve the value of BPA over the long-term.
