This 9.84 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system was installed in 2012 to provide clean and renewable solar energy to the school and to educate the students and community about this technology. This solar array uses micro-inverters to produce AC power independently at each module. This minimizes the negative effects of shading from nearby obstructions such as the school flag post or tall trees. Live energy production data and renewable energy information from the installation is also available online (see link at right) and at an interactive kiosk in the school lobby.
This project was funded as part of Snohomish County PUD's Planet Power program. Project management, education and additional funding was also provided by the Bonneville Environmental Foundation's Solar 4R Schools program. The system was installed by NW Wind & Solar
