Electric vehicles (EVs) can save drivers money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, not to mention they’re really fun to drive! Washington State has a goal of getting 50,000 EVs on the road by 2020. The PUD wants to partner with its customers as they consider purchasing and operating an EV.

EV 101

  • SAVE MONEY.  EVs have lower fuel and maintenance costs than comparable gas-fueled cars.
  • SAVE TIME & SKIP THE PUMP.  EV drivers avoid gas stations entirely! Refueling is as simple as plugging in an EV at home.  Public charging and workplace charging stations are increasingly available too.
  • RANGE TO ROAM. EV drivers enjoy stress-free travel by driving one of the dozens of EV makes and models with an average of more than 100 miles per charge.
  • REDUCE CARBON POLLUTION.  EVs have zero tailpipe emissions, and charging with the PUD’s 98% carbon-free power further minimizes carbon emissions.
  • HAVE FUN.  Instant, smooth and safe acceleration at all speeds make EVs a blast to drive.

The PUD wants to partner with its customers as they consider purchasing and operating an EV. Today, the PUD does not offer incentives for cars or charging equipment but is in the process of evaluating alternatives to support customers. Customers can check back for PUD incentives in the future; updates will be posted on our site.
