Meet the Renewables

Grades: 3-5
Time: 45 minutes

This lively, interactive theatrical assembly starts when a producer and game show host from Energy Extravaganza meet a character named Earth. They learn about the resources that generate energy for electricity when they meet the “Renewables.”

Each renewable energy source takes the form of a character with a bold personality. Hydropower and Wind show how their resource is an input to the BIG System which has an output of electricity. Students also meet the other relatives Solar, Geothermal and Biomass.

The characters share the benefits about their resource, but are also honest about their personality flaws (challenges) they have. By the end of the show, the characters help everyone realize that the best energy source we have is energy conservation and they challenge students to always use their Common Conservation Sense.

And just for fun, everyone gets to review what they’ve learned with the new and improved game show Conservation Sensation!
