August 9, 2017
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Free workshop recommended for teachers of grades 4-8; however, all Snohomish County teachers are welcome to attend.
Join us this summer to learn how to bring the sun’s energy into your classroom. Participants will learn about how the sun’s energy can be used for heating and generating electricity with a variety of hands-on experiments that can be taken back to their classroom. Since learning about solar energy is a great platform for teaching about systems and how energy is transformed throughout, they are also a strong focus of the workshop.
Each teacher will receive a small solar panel that runs a motor and bag of solar beads. Teachers will also have the opportunity to borrow solar supplies for their classroom.
