Key Features

  • The new office consolidates two sites – the Edmonds office and the aging Halls Lake building, which was built more than 50 years ago.
  • The facility addresses continued growth in the PUD customer base as the economy recovers and more residents and businesses move into Snohomish County.
  • Staff members who now work under two different roofs will soon be sited at the same location, in turn improving communication among engineers, line crews and administrative staff.
  • The building exceeds Washington State Code for energy efficiency and the landscaping utilizes native drought-tolerant plants that will require less watering as well as less frequent maintenance than traditional grass landscaping.
  • The new facility doubles the size of the warehouse, which will help with ongoing system maintenance.
  • A new vehicle car wash will save crews from having to travel to the Everett Operations Center or local car washes.
  • With the closure of the Halls Lake facility, more room will be available to expand an adjacent switching station.
  • Bike riders will benefit from the office consolidation, as it will allow for improvements to the Interurban Trail near Halls Lake.
