The Stanwood High School agriculture department grounds make for an excellent community solar demonstration project. The agriculture program at Stanwood High School is closely aligned with the desire of Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) to support renewable energy education along with watershed/fisheries restoration. The school has an active aquaculture program that releases salmon fry into the river within the adjacent Indian reservation. The solar PV system directly offsets a portion of the operating costs associated with this aquaculture program. BEF understands that the PUD would like to support a more diverse set of project host sites within the limited budget of this solicitation, so BEF will provide the grant for the system and education curriculum.
