The PUD offers year-round discounts to its low-income customers who qualify. The discount level is set each year by the Commission. The program currently provides reductions of 20 percent, 40 percent, or 60 percent off PUD electric and water bills with the actual discount percentage depending on income level.
As of October 1, 2013, the discount is available to Snohomish County PUD customers who have a household annual income that is below 125 percent of the federal poverty level (view our income eligibility chart below). Also eligible for discounts are senior citizen PUD customers who are 62 years of age or older and have a combined disposable annual income of less than $27,381.
Customers can obtain an application at any PUD office, at most senior citizen centers, or by calling the utility's Customer Service Department. PDF versions of the applications can be found to the right.
Applications are generally reviewed near the following scheduled date to read your meter. A letter will be mail to you letting you know if your application was approved or denied, and, if approved, at what rate.
