Homeschool Programs

Snohomish County PUD is proud to offer FREE classroom presentations about energy and energy conservation for Snohomish County and Camano Island homeschool students ages 9-13. We offer hands-on lessons in a traditional classroom setting that challenge students to investigate electrical circuits, energy resources, energy transformations and thermal flow. Homeschool programs are held at our headquarters building in Everett.

**Students must be pre-registered and between the ages of 9 and 13 on the day of class in order to participate.  Registrations are first-come, first-served.

Batteries and Bulbs
Students discover the four ways to light a bulb, using a battery, a piece of wire and a bulb. Students will also have a hands-on experience with short circuits and knife switches.

Series and Parallel
Students learn about series and parallel circuits using batteries and light bulbs. Students also learn how to draw a schematic for their circuits.

Make a Light Bulb
Students make their own incandescent light bulbs using a 12-volt battery and discover the relationship between current, resistance, and voltage.
